This weekend The Hobie girls sailed in The Open Danish National Championship for Hobie Cat 16 SPI (spinnaker) and Hobie Cat 16 Classic (7. – 8. of September). The Championships took place in Skovshoved, north of Copenhagen. Unfortunately, there were only two Hobie Cat 16 Classic in the Championship. The Hobie girls won, of course, and got a nice prize but they cannot call themselves the official winners… BUT the good news is that the Hobie girls did it again. They were allowed to start together with the other Hobie Cat 16 Spi. So the Hobie girls participated in a championship with 17 other Hobie Cat’s, and performed extremely well. In two of the races the girls tacked up to the top buoy and rounded as the first boat….. Again everybody was stunned. After the first tacking the girls mainly sailed their own race, as all the other Hobie Cat’s sailed with a spinnaker (an extra ballon sail).
